Iran's Sociological
Concerns in the 1970s-80s
Within this website, we will be focusing on the class structure, school/education system, and families in Iran from 1975-1983. With class structure in Iran during this time period there were 4 different classes. There was lower class, working class, middle class, and upper class. People from different class structures weren’t allowed to be together because society would judge them for it. School and education within Iran had it to where boys and girls went to different schools. Schools focused more on women during that time period because before 1978 almost 60% of women were illiterate. Within the school girls were forced to wear veils. Families who lived in Iran were always prepared to support each other. Religious laws supported the sanctity of the family in diverse ways. The head of the household(father and husband) expected obedience and respect from everyone else who lived inside the home but since they gave him those things he had to support them.
